About Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Baksa
The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) is a district level innovative science based institutional model established
by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi for assessment , refinement, on farm
demonstration of technologies, training of farmers, rural youth and extension personnel for upliftment of
socio-economic condition of entire farming community of the district through scientific intervention in
Agriculture and allied sectors. In true sense KVK is the gateway for transfer of technology from the
laboratory to the farmer s field. It works with collaborative participation of scientists , extension
personnel and farmers. The KVK, Baksa is under the administrative control of Assam Agricultural University,
Jorhat which was established in 2014 at Dhepargaon , Baksa. It is approximately 10 km far to the North from
NH-27 and 70 Km far from Mushalpur the district HQ of Baksa.
